In the beginning...

Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food...—I give every green plant for food.”
Genesis 1:29-30

there was a dream.  Our little family of two grew and it grew.  Now a family of six, the dream grew, too.  We dreamed of having enough land to grow our own food and share our love of healthy living with all of our community.  We dreamed that our children could go outside and pull vegetables right out of the garden to snack on.  We dreamed that we could freeze, can, or dehydrate most of our own food.  

Today, we closed on two additional acres of land that will provide the needed space to do this.  This will become the Maple Park Homestead,  your place to experience the homesteading lifestyle.  We will plant a food forest, build raised beds, and eventually have a store where you can get your root cellar ready for winter.  

​We know this dream will take time and a lot of sweat equity to bring to fruition.  We will take you along for the ride with this blog and website.  Feel free to drive by and honk when you see us out working or, even better, grab a shovel and join us!
